Activity Description:
This activity is based on on the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer standards. To meet the Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards for multidisciplinary cancer case conferences aka tumor boards cancer programs hold multidisciplinary cancer case conference(s) to evaluate patient management.
Target Audience:
Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, Nursing, Pathology, Pharmacology, Pulmonology, Radiology and Surgery.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to achieve the below:
- Apply current evidence-based guidelines to the multidisciplinary management of HPB cancer across all stages of disease.
- Interpret imaging, pathology, and genomic testing results to accurately stage disease and guide individualized treatment planning.
- Integrate surgical, medical oncology, and radiation oncology perspectives to develop coordinated, patient-centered care plans.
- Identify appropriate candidates for systemic therapies, surgical interventions, and radiation strategies based on tumor biology and patient factors.
- Enhance communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary team members to reduce practice variability and improve quality of care.
