Activity Description:

This activity's learning needs are derived from load a CCAD is on the rise. The technology is ever evolving and there is a steep learning curve in the context of rapid staff turnover, it is essential to have targeted education, confirmed also by request from MDs as well as Nursing Educator and Managers.

Target Audience: 

Critical Care, Anaesthesia, Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Emergency Medicine

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to achieve the below:

  • Review the latest research in advanced mechanical circulatory support, cardiac and or respiratory failure and heart and or lung transplant.
  • Review all aspects of recently completed ECMO cases at CCAD including patient selection, ongoing care, significant events, outcomes, etc.
  • Review topics identified by the members of ECMO team
