Activity Description:
This activity is aligned with the organization M&M review meetings. It is focused on discussing M&M cases and engage in the process of patient safety and quality improvement.
Target Audience:
General Surgery, Colorectal Surgery, HPB surgery, MIS Surgery, Bariatric Surgery
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to achieve the below:
- Analyze surgical complications and adverse outcomes to identify contributing factors, system issues, and opportunities for improvement in clinical decision-making and operative technique.
- Apply evidence-based practices by integrating current literature and guidelines into the prevention and management of surgical complications.
- Enhance clinical judgment and competence through structured, multidisciplinary case discussion involving residents and attending surgeons.
- Evaluate the quality and safety of surgical care using morbidity and mortality data to promote accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
