Riad Alchanan, MD is a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists where he completed his specialty training in General and Interventional Radiology at Hull Royal Infirmary then completed a post-CCT fellowship in IR at King's College Hospital in London and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology. 

His work involves a mixture of vascular, HPB and oncological interventions. He is also one of the first body IR consultants in the UK to have undertaken structured training in Interventional Neuroradiology as part of building up the infrastructure and the manpower for a comprehensive mechanical stroke thrombectomy service. 

Dr Alchanan holds certifications from the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) and European Diploma in Stroke Intervention (EDSI) and is currently practicing at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He has multiple publications including a book chapter and presented at several national and international meetings.
