Dr. Kiran Hilal is a pediatric radiologist with a special interest in pediatric neuroradiology and currently serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Services in the Department of Radiology at Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi ,Paksitan. She has held key leadership roles, including Past Associate Director of the Radiology Residency Program and Director of the On-Job Trainee Radiograph Training Program.
Dr. Hilal is the first radiologist from Pakistan to obtain both the European Diploma in Pediatric Radiology (EDiPR) and the European Diploma in Pediatric Neuroradiology (EDiPNR), reflecting her dedication to specialized pediatric radiology. Internationally recognized, she is a faculty member of the Society of Pediatric Neuroimaging (SPIN) and serves as an Executive Board Member of the Asian Oceanic Society of Pediatric Radiology (AOSPR). She also contributes as a member of the Case of the Week (COW) Committee for the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology (ASPNR).
Her research portfolio includes over 45 publications, with significant contributions in pediatric neuroimaging and pediatric oncology imaging. She has led multiple grant-funded research projects in collaboration with prestigious organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Hilal has played a pivotal role in developing national imaging guidelines for pediatric cancers, such as Wilms tumor and retinoblastoma.National Radiology Representative for Pakistan in the ARIA (Adopted Resource and Implementation Application) Group for Osteosarcoma Guidelines.
Dr. Hilal has been actively involved in the Radiological Society of Pakistan, having served as Joint Secretary and Counselor. Dedicated to advancing radiology education, she has designed and implemented training programs and educational modules, actively mentoring radiology trainees and medical students.
