Ali Wahla, MD
Ali Saeed Wahla, is a Consultant Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician at the Respiratory and Critical Care Institute, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he has practiced since 2014. He currently serves as Director of the Bronchoscopy Program, Quality Officer for the Respiratory Institute, and leads the Lung Cancer and Lung Cancer Screening Program.
Dr. Wahla completed his medical degree at The Aga Khan University, Pakistan, followed by Internal Medicine residency at Wake Forest University, USA. He subsequently pursued fellowships in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Interventional Pulmonology, and Heart Failure at Wake Forest University and Boston University Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine.
An accomplished academic clinician, Dr. Wahla is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. He is actively involved in graduate medical education and oversees the pulmonary curriculum for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He has held multiple leadership roles nationally and internationally, including President of the Interventional Pulmonology Section of the Emirates Thoracic Society.
Dr. Wahla has an extensive publication record in pulmonary, critical care, and interventional bronchoscopy, with research focusing on lung cancer screening, advanced bronchoscopic techniques, and respiratory diseases relevant to Middle Eastern populations. He is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals and has received multiple awards for clinical excellence and teaching. His research interests center on evidence-based pulmonary and critical care medicine with a particular focus on interventional pulmonology.
