Camilo Boza is a Bariatric Metabolic Surgeon at Clínica Las Condes  , Santiago , Chile. He did his Surgical residence at Universidad Católica de Chile and a fellowship training in Advanced laparoscopic Surgery at University of Barcelona , Spain with Professor Antonio Lacy. He completed his training at Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University in New York with Professor Michel Gagner.
He was the founder president of the Chilean Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery . He has an extensive experience in the field of Bariatric -Metabolic Surgery with more than 60 published papers on international journals and more than 10 book chapters. In the last years he has been running PRODIGIES study, a prospective randomized trial comparing Metabolic Surgery and Medical treatment for Diabetic patients with renal disease. He introduced to Chile the Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty a few years ago with the largest experience in the region.  Last year he was the first surgeon in Latin América to introduce the use of Magnets to perform Duodeno -Ileostomies. He was the IFSO 2025 World Congress president that took  place in September 2025, Santiago, Chile, with more than 2500 attendees.
