Dr. Akmal was a General and Oncologic Surgeon at Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles, where he also served as Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, including complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic procedures, as well as colorectal cancer and soft tissue tumors. Dr. Akmal holds a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from the University of Southern California.
