Dr Arun Kumar is the Department Chair of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology and Transplant Anesthesiology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He is also a Clinical Associate Professor in Anesthesiology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Ohio.

Dr Arun Kumar obtained his MBBS and MD in Anesthesiology from JIPMER, India. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and has the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from UK. Dr Kumar completed his Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and Transplant from the Royal Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, UK

Dr Kumar is a Diplomate of the National Board of Echocardiography USA and accredited in Transesophageal echo by the British Society of Echocardiography.

Dr Kumar has several publications to his credit in peer reviewed journals and is a regular speaker at national and international meetings.

Dr Kumar’s area of expertise include anesthesia for cardiac and thoracic surgery, anesthesia for organ transplants including heart, lung and liver transplants. He is credited with an active role in setting up the first multiorgan transplant programme in United Arab Emirates at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi
